Penfurnex 2012 - PISA Penang

The biggest furniture Exhibition in Northern region - Penfurnex 2012 will be held at PISA on 22-24 June 9am-10pm. One of the event highlight is the GIANT Chair weight guess contest. The visitors have chance to take back home a brand new iPad if they can guess the weight of the GIANT Chair (close to the actual).

Penang Go Greener and Cleaner

The Penang government will launch the Cleaner Greener Penang Initiative, a collaboration between the state and the Penang Island and Seberang Perai municipal councils with various quarters such as state environment non-governmental organisations, residents associations, the private sector and government agencies.
State local government committee chairman Chow Kon Yeow who chairs the programme said the initiative seeks to improve the quality of life, create a greener public realm for Penangites and address cleanliness issues which have plagued the state for a long time.

The state government’s green programmes have included reducing the use of plastic bags, tree planting and using micro-organism mudballs. More details, go to official website http://greenstate.penang.gov.my/

World Meatless Day is a very unique exercise, with the purpose to help promote awareness among people of the world about compassion for all life through the non-violent practice of vegetarianism.
The world is changing and vegetarianism is becoming an accepted way of life. Vegetarianism is a magic pill that could not only add years to your life, but could also protect you from heart disease, cancer and other degenerative diseases so common in our modern society and keep you slim in the bargain.

Vegetarians tend to eat far greater quantities of fruits and vegetables, high in anti-oxidants, the main agents in repairing the wear and tear on our bodies incurred in daily living and strengthening our immune systems. Early repair of damaged DNA cells is important in preventing cancer and diseases such as arthritis and arteriosclerosis and even cataracts. A well-balanced vegetarian diet naturally contains all proteins and amino acids necessary for good health.

Animal protein contains high amounts of uric acid, which put great strain on our kidneys and subsequently our livers. Also meat in modern times contains large quantities of hormones, pesticides and antibiotics that wreak even more havoc on our systems. In fact, antibiotic use in animal farming has been implicated in recent bacterial resistance to these drugs, creating new breeds of super-bacteria thus endangering all our lives.

Most people become vegetarians for reasons of health or animal welfare. However there is another equally important reason to curtail meat eating, and that is the health of our planet. Vegetarianism, or even just cutting back on the amount of meat and fish one consumes, is a way to help the earth fight back - a way to protect ourselves, the animals and the environment and replenish the dwindling food resources on our planet.

Mean Machines 2010 - AutoCity Juru Penang

The Mean Machines is the largest outdoor performance motorsport and motoring event in Malaysia. More than 500 modified cars, supercars, classic cars and car club cars will be on display together with more than 50 of the leading after-market auto-accessories company exhibiting at the event. Some of notable event at Mean Machines include the Meanest Modified Car Competition, SuperCar Charity Drive and Showcase, Classic Car Gymkhana, Drift Demonstrations, Superbike and Classic-bike Gathering and the Search for Miss Mean Machines.

Oktoberfest is a sixteen-day festival held each year in Munich, Germany during late September (and running to early October). It is one of the most famous events in Germany and the world's largest fair, with some six million people attending every year, and is an enjoyable event with an important part of Bavarian culture.

The Munich Oktoberfest, traditionally, takes place during the sixteen days up to and including the first Sunday in October.

Here in Penang, the MGS organizes our Oktoberfest Penang now for the 37th time. More than 1400 visitors turned up for this event this year. Making Oktoberfest Penang the biggest Oktoberfest in Malaysia! Not only the German expatriates supported the event, locals too made the event livelier by participating in several contests.

Air Supply Concert - Penang PISA

Air Supply will perform at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on Nov 15, Pisa Indoor Stadium, Penang, on Nov 16 and Sukpa Indoor Stadium in Kuantan, Pahang, on Nov 18. The tour is organised by Star Planet.
