What is Ice Bucket Challenge? It has gone viral in the social media recently. Many artists, businessman, politician and people around United States already took part. The Ice Bucket Challenge is a social-media-driven fundraising stunt that has people dumping buckets of ice water over their heads, making videos of themselves doing it and challenging others to do the same all in the name of raising money for charity.
The charity most often named as the recipient of the ice bucket dollars has been the ALS Association. ALS stands for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, better known as Lou Gehrig's disease. The ALS Association has received $22.9 million from the Ice Bucket Challenge — that's $3.5 million more than the charity received in contributions for all of 2012.
