According to Malaysian Insider, Penang has been alert to set up bases and rescue operations of the missing airplane Boeing 777-200ER which belong to MH370 Malaysia Airline that vanished 7 days ago when routes to Beijing from KLIA Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
MH370 took off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 12:30am last Saturday with 227 passengers of 12 nationalities and 12 Malaysian crews on board. The plane went off the radar at 1:30am when flying above the South China Sea and the Southern Coast of Vietnam.
The Vietnam authorities has launched the search of the missing aircraft since the incident at the Gulf of Thailand and South China Sea but nothing has been found so far. More than 12 countries have participated the search and rescue operation including China, Australia, Taiwan, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Japan, Korea, India and New Zealand. But nothing has been found for the missing flight MH370 until today. The rescue area has been expanded to Strait of Malacca and up to north of Andaman Sea.
