THE FOOD MALL
Phase 1 of Penang Times Square is well on its way to reposition itself as a Food Mall. There are more and more visitors flocking over to Penang Times Square who have become regulars especially at the F&B outlets. The recent opening of Soju Club which comprises a club, beer garden and café is spicing up the night pub scene in George Town. It is where an internationally acclaimed eight-piece live band, Crush, is playing to packed audience nightly. Also, the newly opened restaurants that have been pulling in the crowd are Kochabi, a Taiwanese restaurant and Face to Face Noodles House. Patrons can also look forward to the opening of Tao, an Asean Ala-crate Buffet Restaurant with 15,000 sq ft of dining space catering to 250 people and a Chinese restaurant called Ming Garden that can accommodate over 1000 people. Ming Garden has 20,000 sq ft of dining space which will be ideal for wedding reception and corporate functions.
The Penang Times Square will soon be a hive of activities for those looking for entertainment, not just pubs but also karaoke for the family, more shopping outlets and fine-dining restaurants. The air of festivities will attract city dwellers to gather at the adjacent Chin Ho Plaza open space to take part and attend the many outdoor events, concerts, lifestyle activities and sports competitions that are in the planning board. When fully operational, the Food Mall at Penang Times Square will be the next happening place in George Town and the first food mall in the northern states.
